Mercy Chinwo and Pastor Jerry Eze come together on the live version of “Amaram Onyewem,” a worship song with a bold confession at its heart: I know who owns me.
Mercy Chinwo first released “Amaram Onyewem” as a single in January 2024, featuring Pastor Jerry Eze, and the two are credited together as its writers. The live version appears on her album Overwhelming Victory, and it stretches the song into a full worship moment of more than ten minutes.
The pairing is a natural one. Pastor Jerry Eze leads the NSPPD prayer movement, and Mercy Chinwo has ministered at several of his NSPPD conferences, including in Lagos, Liberia and the United Kingdom, leading thousands of worshippers in song.
The title is Igbo, and the confession it carries is one every believer can make. We are not our own. In Isaiah 43:1, God says, “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that we were bought with a price. Knowing who owns you changes how you face fear, sickness, delay and every battle: you belong to the One who has already won.
The live recording carries the energy of a congregation in agreement, with praise and declaration flowing together. At 10 minutes 42 seconds, it is made for long prayer sessions, morning devotion and moments when you need to remind yourself whose you are.
A prayer for today: Lord, I know who owns me. I belong to You, bought by the blood of Jesus. Let no fear rule my heart today, for I am Yours. Amen.
