Joe Praize turns our attention to the goodness of God on “So Good,” a song of thanksgiving from one of Nigeria's most respected praise and worship leaders.
Joe Praize, born Joseph Omo Ebhodaghe, is a Nigerian gospel singer, praise and worship leader, songwriter and music director. He rose to popularity with “Mighty God” from his debut album My Praise, a song that is still sung in churches across Nigeria and beyond. His later work includes “God Alone,” a worship song about who God is, and the eleven-track album The Assignment, released in 2022.
Through the years, his music has stayed centred on one thing: lifting up the name of God. “So Good” continues in that spirit.
The goodness of God is one of the oldest themes in worship. Psalm 34:8 invites us, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalm 107:1 says, “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” Whatever the season, His goodness does not change, and remembering it turns worry into worship.
Songs like this one remind us to stop and count what God has done: the doors He opened, the battles He fought, the mercies that met us every morning.
At 5 minutes 24 seconds, “So Good” fits your praise sessions, family devotion and thanksgiving services, and it makes a fine WhatsApp Status on a day you want to testify.
A prayer for today: Lord, You have been so good to me. Thank You for Your mercy that endures forever. Help me never to forget Your goodness. Amen.
