Chioma Jesus is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter and worship leader known for “Chioma,” “Okemmuo” and “Na God I Dey Praise.”
Born Amaka Okwuoha on 12 February 1972, she is from Imo State. She began singing in her church choir at nine, according to Music In Africa.
Her debut single, “Chioma,” released in 2003, gave her her stage name. Her albums include “Miracle God” and “Nkwa Chioma Jesus Live,” and she recorded “Live in Chicago” in 2012. She has collaborated with Sinach and Samsong, per Wikipedia.
Her music fuses traditional Igbo rhythms with contemporary gospel, and she sings mostly in Igbo, mixed with English. In 2023, she toured university campuses to steer young people away from social vices.
