American worship leader Charity Gayle brings a declaration of faith in “I Speak Jesus,” a worship song about the power of the name of Jesus.
As the title says, the song is about speaking the name of Jesus over every situation: over fear, sickness, anxiety, broken homes and the battles we face in our minds. It is not a song about trying harder in our own strength. It is a song about calling on the One whose name carries all authority, and trusting Him to move.

Proverbs 18:10 adds that “the name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” In Acts 3:6, Peter healed a lame man “in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.” “I Speak Jesus” carries that same faith into worship.
The song has become a favourite in churches and homes around the world, and it is easy to see why. Its message is simple, its melody is easy to sing along to, and its words turn worship into prayer.
At 4 minutes 42 seconds, “I Speak Jesus” is a good fit for personal devotion, prayer meetings, intercession and church services. It is especially meaningful when you are praying for someone who is going through a hard time, or when you need to remind your own heart where your help comes from.
