More than fifty years on the altar, and the praise has not slowed down. Veteran gospel singer Bola Are, known to many as Mummy Bola Are, lifts her voice once again with “Awesome God,” a worship song that celebrates the greatness and majesty of the Lord.
A pioneer of Yoruba gospel
Bola Are is a Nigerian gospel singer and one of the pioneers of Yoruba gospel music. She formed her band, Bola and Her Spiritual Singers, in 1973 and released her first album, “Baba Kuse,” in 1977. Her worship is known for its prayerful, reverent tone.
About “Awesome God”
The title says it all: God is awesome, greater than any problem, any season or any title we can give Him. It is a song for standing still in His presence and giving Him praise. To reflect on the same theme in the Bible, read Psalm 47:2.
